We have compiled a booklet called Fotanian 100 Q&A after collecting a 100 questions from our Fotan artists and 100 answers from people who work inside the local art field or are outside of it. We hope that this 100 pieces of dialogue would represent a ‘multi-dimensional’ Fotan – its past present and future. The 3000 copies of Fotanian 100 Q&A will be distributed to various venues such as coffee shops, universities, book shops and galleries, free of charge.
Please note that A small amount of Fotanian 100 Q&A will be sold during the Fotanian: Open Studios.

Everyday we not only inevitably read lots of information from emails, documents and newspapers but also blogs, magazines and novels for leisure or joy. As our daily practice, can reading be more then reception but involving creativity?
Referring to Stuart HALL's theory of mass communication, reading is not only a passive reception of information or knowledge, but also a kind of active re-construction and even the construction or revelation of the reader's identity (in the sociological sense.) Does it remind us there are lots of creative acts as well as reading we can initiate in everyday?
Further to the first episode of 'Alternative Reading on Text' at the Mackie Study bookstore in 2005. Curator Jeff LEUNG extends the project by inviting more artists and a curator Aries CHAN in this second episode.
In the exhibition, viewers will find how the visual artists creatively re-write or interpret some daily readings. Apart from reading, we wish viewers can be reminded and share the joy and the possibility of creative acts in everyday practices.
