As part of their ongoing programme supporting local art, Sino Group has
initiated ART.in.HK, a project presenting a series of art exhibitions
and activities at Sino properties. To mark the launch of ART.in.HK, an
exhibition titled Sparkling will be held at Olympian City 1 from 30 April
to 20 May, showcasing the work of eight artists who share a studio in
Fotan.
Ms Una Lau, Senior Manager of Marketing and Corporate Communications
of Sino Group, said, "There are many passionate artists in Hong Kong.
They devote their lives to art, yet there are few channels to showcase
their work. By sponsoring exhibition venues and publicity, Sino Group
is creating more opportunities for artists to flourish, and promoting
local art to the public."
To increase the awareness of art as an integral part of life, Sino Group
is setting aside open spaces to draw people together to experience art.
For example, a set of three-metre tall display panels has been installed
permanently in the Central Atrium of Olympian City 1 with the aim of developing
the space into a contemporary art gallery. In addition to presenting exhibitions
and art events, Sino Group will support local arts by purchasing and collecting
local masterpieces to be displayed in various properties.
In the course of its art related activities, Sino Group has come to recognize
a group of very important local artists who have set up private studios
in Fotan's old industrial buildings. These studios are self-financed and
operated independently.
The Sparkling exhibition showcases the works of "art@14e",
the studio of Jessica Ho, Sam Sham (沈仕銳), Pauline Ng (吳敏瑜), Nichole Chan
(陳慶蕊), Clement Ngan (顏啟明), Tommy Tam (譚安健), Ivy Fung (馮菁萍) and Jacqueline
Kwan (關珮賢).
